Ned Watts Barnes, Jr., 59, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at SECU Hospice Center of Yadkin. Ned was born in Iredell County on March 27, 1959 son of the late Ned Watts Barnes and Mary Lambert Barnes Bruce and his step-father, Raymond Bruce. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, working on cars and was an avid outdoors man. He was a member of Yadkin Baptist Mission. In addition to his parents and step-father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Darrell Bruce and father-in-law, Jackie Snow. Surviving are his wife; Patricia Snow Barnes, three daughters, Brittany Barnes Day (Chris), Jennie Barnes and Alicia Barnes Coleman, grandchildren; Jacklyn Day, Isabelle Day, Gus Merritt and Harley Anderson, sister; Martha Olmes (Steve), three brothers; Earnest Bruce (Janet), Barry Bruce (Sharon) and Eric Bruce (Kristen) and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Gentry Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ronnie Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church cemetery on Brandon Road. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till time of service at the funeral home.
