Nell Ray Matthews Allen

Allen Yadkinville-  Mrs. Nell Ray Matthews Allen, 86, of Wishon Road passed away peacefully Friday June 22, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born May 18, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late James Henry and Lillie Mae Norman Matthews.  Mrs. Allen was retired from Hanes Knitting, worked with QST-Furniture Factory, was a licensed C.N.A, and was a member of Courtney Baptist Church.  She enjoyed working with her flowers, and was a loving, devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, Memaw, and friends to everyone she would meet.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Washington Allen; by a great-grandson, Jason McCormick; 5 sisters; and 3 brothers.  Surviving are her loving daughters, Deborah Dixon and Sandra McCormick, both of Yadkinville; her grandchildren, Scott (Sandy) Sizemore, Shannon (Nikki) Sizemore, Missy (Ricky) Holloway, Brooke (Tim) Crumpler; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Dustin, Zach, Haley, Kaje, Tori; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Lacy, Blazze, Kimber, and Dahlia.  The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:00 PM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, and other times at the home of her daughter, Deborah Dixon, 2709 Pilot View Church Road, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  A Celebration of Life Service will follow the Visitation at 4:00 PM Monday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev.
