Ms. Nellie Sue Hemric Mathis, 76, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Care Center. Ms. Mathis was born August 25, 1943 in Wilkes County to James Fred and Ethel Day Hemric.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Mathis was preceded in death by her sisters, Annie Wagoner and Lucille Pinnix; and five brothers, Garvey, Clyde, Jim, Howard, and Roy Hemric. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Mathis; a special niece, Judy (David) Wagoner; a great niece, Tracy (Robert) Bare; great-great nieces, Montana and Cheyenne Handy; a sister, Pearl Brooks; and a brother, Troy (Margaret) Hemric.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM, Monday, January 6, 2020 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Joel Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Dennyville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, especially Donald, for the loving care given to Ms. Mathis. Also, to her great niece for the many days spend with her until her death.
