Nellie Casstevens Vestal

Boonville Mrs. Nellie Pauline Casstevens Vestal, 92, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin. Mrs. Vestal was born July 25, 1927 in Surry County to Noah and Dora Reeves Casstevens. She was a member of Swaims Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vestal was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Edward Vestal; and four brothers, Billy, Frank, Ernest, & Robert Casstevens. She is survived by her three children, Mary (Tommy) Gordon, David Vestal, and Randall (Lori) Vestal; grandchildren, Kimberly (Jake) Adams, Jennifer (Chad) McClamrock, Melissa Vestal Walker, Elyse (Cody) Sluder, Mark Vestal, Emily Vestal, Logan (Tiffany) Greene; great grandchildren, Chase, Lindsay, Jacob, Dylan, Riley, & Isaiah; sister, Ellen (Odell) Cheek; a brother, Tommy (Sue) Casstevens; a sister-in-law, Chris Casstevens; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Friday, February 28, 2020 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Swaims Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM, prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Swaims Baptist Church 3919 Swaims Church Road Hamptonville, NC 27020 or to SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin 243 N. Lee Ave. Yadkinville NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkin, the staff of Pruitt Healthcare, Dr. Griffin and the staff of Hugh Chatham Hospital for the loving care given to Mrs. Vestal.
