Ocie Lee Fallin

August 3, 1931 — August 11, 2022

Mr. Ocie Lee Fallin, 91, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Salisbury VA Liberty Hospice House.  Ocie was born August 3, 1931 in Bassettville, VA to Dallas and Gertis Williamson Fallin.  He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War.  He had a great love for our country and for serving others.  Ocie worked as a deputy for the Yadkin County Sherriff’s Dept. and was the Police Chief for Yadkinville Police Dept. for several years.  He enjoyed classic cars, talking to everyone at John Boys, and going to church.  “He lived a life.”

In addition to his parents, Ocie was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma DeBorde; a brother, JD Fallin; and his K-9 companions, Bear & Chief.  He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 70 years, Betty Smith Fallin; two daughters, Kathy Fallin (William Turner) and Charlotte (John) Fallin-Masterson; grandchildren, Victoria and Grant Masterson; a brother, Jimmy (Terrie) Fallin; several nieces and nephews; and his K-9 companion, Flex. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson and Rev. Johnny Blevins officiating.  Burial will follow at Salem Fork Baptist Church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the Army National Guard Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salisbury VA Liberty Hospice House, building 43, VAMC, 1601 Brenner Ave. Salisbury, NC 28114.  Please designate if it is for Hospice House or for PTSD treatment.  

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Liberty Hospice Home for the loving care given to Ocie during this difficult time.
