Olese Miller Matthews

Boonville Mrs. Olese Miller Matthews, age 80, passed away Saturday January 28, 2023 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Matthews was born June 16, 1942 in Forsyth County to Fred and Cora Hobson Miller. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Matthews owned and operated Matthews Clean up Shop for many years, and worked with local and nationally renowned trade shows. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Matthews was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne (Sylvia) Miller. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas Roy Matthews; her children, Diane Matthews and Jeff (Debra) Matthews; six grandchildren, Abby Matthews, Logan (Haley) Matthews, Erika Hanson, Mac (Karlie) Hanson, Casey (Brandon) Mason, and Morgan Matthews; great-grandchildren, Lenora and Messer Hanson, Kenzie Mae Matthews and Waylon Roy Matthews (due March 2023); her brothers-in-law, Robert (Carol) Matthews, Vernon (Brenda) Matthews, and Larry (Diane) Matthews; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00PM prior to the service at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center 8th Floor, Margaret Cochran, and Libby Pendergrass for the wonderful, loving care given to Mrs. Matthews.
