Ollie Mae Groce Collins, 86, passed away peacefully at Village Care of King on Wednesday February 13, 2019. She was born in Yadkin County, NC on August 28, 1932; daughter of the late Mose D. Groce and Floy Vestal Groce, graduated from West Yadkin High School, was a member of Swaims Baptist Church where she served as choir director for many years. She loved to sing and sang duets with her sister in law, Annie Pearl, as long as she was able. Mrs. Collins worked at Hanes Knitting, Sunbeam Corp and retired from Brendles, Inc. where she was a jewelry manager. Survivors include her children; Debbi Collins (Tom Lawson), Danny Collins (Belynda) and Robyn Cromer (Jerry), grandchildren; Angie Hinshaw (Jeff), Haley Ashworth (Brealon), Adam Luffman (Sarah), Sydney Cromer and Carly Collins, great-grandchildren; Bryson Hinshaw, Ben Hinshaw, Casey Hinshaw, Lilly Luffman and Maddox Ashworth, sister; Gerry Vestal, sister in law; Annie Pearl Groce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Burley, Delmar, John and Grady Groce, five sisters; Vertie King, Valena Wagoner, Estelle Macemore, Mary Brown and Frances Belvins. A celebration of life service will be conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Swaims Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church and other times at her home. Memorials may be made to Swaims Baptist Church, 3919 Swaims Church Rd, Hamptonville, NC.
