Paul "Bristol" Renegar

Mr. Paul “Bristol” Renegar, 95, passed away on March 19, 2023 at Gordon Hospice House. He was born on January 16, 1928 to Paul Bliss Renegar and Edna Smith Renegar. He was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church. Bristol was a second-generation timber and sawmill operator. He also raised many acres of tobacco over the years. Bristol was an avid baseball player and loved coaching baseball even more. He coached all ages and left his mark on each player he coached. Another thing he loved was riding horses. He had a heart for all children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bristol was preceded in death by the love of his life of over 70 years, Betty Hoots Renegar; a brother, Jerry Renegar; and a sister, Estelle Baity. He is survived by his three sons, Terry (Doris) Renegar, Kent (Melinda) Renegar, and Daryl (Angela) Renegar; a brother, Bobby Renegar; a sister, Laura Chamberlain; grandchildren, Paul (Amber) Renegar, Christy (Chris) Watts, David Cloer, Blake (Kacie) Renegar, Lee (Kayla) Renegar, Clint (Racheal) Renegar, Matthew (Amy) Renegar, and Andrea (Liam) King; and great-grandchildren, Tate, Lincoln, Kenedie, Karsyn, Jaxon, Austin, Bethany, Brooks, Kolbryn, Charlotte, Colton, Hollyn, Remington, and Ashton.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 2:00PM at Sandy Springs Baptist Church, Harmony, NC with Rev. Howard Wagoner and Rev. David Kiser officiating. Mr. Renegar will lie-in-state from 1:30-2:00PM prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville from 6:00-8:00PM. Memorials to honor Bristol can be made to the Sandy Springs Cemetery fund, and Gordon Hospice of Iredell County, 2341 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625. The family would like to thank caregiver, Brian Dahl for the all the love and care given to Bristol. They would also like to thank caregiver, Lisa Klosowski for being Bristol’s angel here on earth and for being with him from days on end.
