Paul Dovin Campbell, Sr.

Jonesville- Paul “Dovin” Campbell, Sr., 87, of Hamptonville, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Hugh Chatham Hospital. He was born in Yadkin County on July 17, 1931 to Erastus Blaine Campbell and Fannie Elizabeth Evans Campbell.  In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lee Nicks Campbell, 4 sisters, Ruth Wagoner, Roena Macemore, Ruby Stokes and Nola Brown, and two brothers, Billy and Earl Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a member of  Swaims Baptist Church. He loved hunting, skeet shooting and gardening. He is survived by his two sons, Paul D. Campbell Jr. and Gralyn Campbell (Kathy), two grandchildren Rachel Campbell and Valerie Wall (Richard), and a sister, Edna Jane Roof.  A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday September 1, 2018 at 1:00pm at Gentry Funeral Chapel, Jonesville with Rev. Charlie Kennedy officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.
