Peggie Bell, 84, of Cary, passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2020 at Transitions Lifecare Hospice in Raleigh.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her parents, Dan and Sadie Redding; and her brother, Buddy Redding.  She is survived by her daughter, Koreen (Chuck); her son, Art (Terri) and three grandchildren – Sloane (Koreen), Matthew and Emily (Art). Peggie was born in Winston-Salem and raised in Lewisville.  She graduated from Gardner-Webb College, where she was a member of the lady’s basketball team, in 1956.  Peggie and Arnold were married later that year to begin their life’s journey together.  They experienced the excitement and, on several occasions, the stress of being a member of the United States Air Force family and during that time lived in several locations including Altus, OK; Rome, NY, Pittsburgh, PA and Fairborn, OH in addition to living in Germany.  In 1973, the family moved to Hamptonville, close to the home of Arnold’s youth.  Peggie was active at Flat Rock Baptist Church and worked in real estate.  After Arnold’s retirement in 1996, Peggie and Arnold enjoyed spending their time visiting Myrtle Beach, living in The Villages in Florida and visiting with the grandchildren.  After Arnold passed away in 2005, Peggie adjusted to life on her own and ultimately relocated to Cary, NC in 2010 where she immersed herself in her new community. Peggie’s strong faith in Jesus Christ provided the foundation for facing life’s challenges and providing a loving, comforting home.  That strong faith enabled her to face cancer with dignity and determinatiIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to your local house of worship or to your local Hospice organizationon or Transitions Lifecare 250 Hospice Circle Raleigh, North Carolina 27607.
