Peggy Smith Long

Boonville Mrs. Peggy Smith Long, 85, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Long was born May 19, 1936 in Yadkin County to Vaughn and Bertie Vanhoy Smith. She was a member of Boonville United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, of 62 years, Grady Ralph Long. She is survived by her son, Ralph Long and wife Janie; two grandchildren, Josiah and Julieanna Long; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Long; an aunt, Blanche Bovender; and several other special family members. A memorial service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held 11:00 AM Friday February 11, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Julie Wilburn Peeler, and Rev. Ralph Long. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boonville United Methodist Church, PO Box 178, Boonville, NC 27011, Rincon United Methodist Church, 107 Savannah Ave., Rincon, GA 31326, or to the Children’s Home Society, PO Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415.
