Phyllis Campbell Vernon

Yadkinville Mrs. Phyllis Frances Campbell Vernon, 83, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Vernon was born June 17, 1937 in Augusta Co. VA to the late Alfred Thomas and Grace Hazel Campbell. She attended Maplewood Baptist Church and enjoyed embroidery. Mrs. Vernon retired from Unifi after 30 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vernon was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Vernon; a sister, Barbara A. Campbell; a brother, Larry A. Campbell; a daughter, Dixie L. Fugate; and a granddaughter, Kimberly D. Bowden. She is survived by her children, Sherry St. Onge, Vickie (Eugene) Bowden, Lloyd (Adeline) Vernon, and Danny Vernon; grandchildren, Taylor St. Onge, Kainain St. Onge, Jonathan Bowden, Brittany Bowden, Courtney Fugate, Garrett Fugate, Christopher Southers, and Jessica Wagner; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Nellie (Ray) Koon; brothers, Jasper Strickler, Leonard (Dorothy) Campbell, Kenneth (Faye) Campbell, and Lester (Nancy) Campbell; several nieces, nephews, and friends. A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
