Phyllis Coe Warden

Mrs. Phyllis Coe Warden, 76, fell asleep peacefully, in the Lord, surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. In addition to her parents, Numa and Irene Coe, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Bill Coe, Mae Brewer, Charlotte Christie and Rhett Coe. If you spent time around her, Phyllis’s love for others was evident in everything she did. She loved catering weddings, making cakes, rolling out cookies and making candy to give as gifts for the holidays, and feeding family and friends every opportunity she had. She even loved being able to provide food to students while she worked at the school cafeteria at Yadkinville Elementary School. She carried a deep love and compassion for her children and their spouses and always provided an encouraging word or a warm hug at just the right times. Her grandchildren and great grandchild, her “jewels” as she liked to call them, brightened her life. She loved to spoil them as often as she could. Most importantly, Phyllis loved the Lord, which was evident by her love of singing praises unto Him. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Lawrence, the love of her life for 55 years, her four children and their spouses: Johnny (Angela) Warden, Randy (Michelle) Warden, James (Kelly) Warden, Abigail (Anthony) Davis; Ten grandchildren: Isaac (Sara) Warden, Bridgette Warden, Lauren (David) Gibson, Hannah (Antonio) Douglas, Mackenzie Warden, Ainsley Davis, Nate Warden, Cleo Warden, Huston Warden, Cross Warden; one great grandchild, Sevila Warden; a loving sister, Josie Wingler, and several precious nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with her sons and son-in-law officiating. Burial will follow in the Shacktown Church of Christ cemetery.
