Rachel Jackson Brandon

Yadkinville Mrs. Rachel Lynn Jackson Brandon, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at SECU Hospice Care Center. Rachel was born January 29, 1946 in Wake County to Roger Ray and Amanda Kathaleen Murphy Jackson. She graduated from UNCG with a degree in music and worked as an elementary school teacher for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Boone and Yadkinville UMC where she was active in the choir and handbells. While living in Boone, she served with various non-profit organizations. Rachel enjoyed playing the piano, playing Bridge, doing word games, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Ray Jackson; and two sisters, Joyce Janke and Faye Lynam. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Dr. Henry “Allen” Brandon; two children, Amy (Naren) Schoenacher and Roger (Heather) Brandon; grandchildren, Noah and Aria Schoenacher; a sister, Kathryn Tyler; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00PM, Friday, October 22, 2021 at Harmony Grove Cemetery with Rev. Jonathan Gaylord officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SECU Hospice Care Center, 401 Technology Lane Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or to Yadkinville UMC, 204 W. Main Street Yadkinville, NC 27055.
