Rachel Marie Leleux Carey

Ms. Rachel Marie Carey, formerly known as Rachel Marie Leleux, 54, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 24, 1969 to Wayne and Dolores Leleux. She attended Forbush High School and was very active in the music program. Rachel grew up in North Carolina, but currently resided in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was a strong woman of faith and she loved sharing about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Rachel was an electrician for over 20 years, and she enjoyed playing pool. She will be so missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her.

Rachel was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Leleux. She is survived by her mother, Dolores Leleux; a son, Andre Leleux; a daughter, Jessica Abebe Yohannes and husband, Nebeyou; grandchildren, Noah Yohannes, Nile Yohannes, and Jordan Yohannes; sister, Melanie Leleux Yates; and Rachel's partner of 15 years, Allan Premchand.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. Psalms 121 1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
