Rafael Rubio-Vega

Elkin Mr. Rafael Rubio-Vega, 92, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his home. Mr. Rubio-Vega was born July 8, 1930 in Queretaro, Mexico to Jose Rubio and Maxima Vega. He enjoyed rodeos, dancing, hunting, horse racing, and playing poker. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rubio-Vega was preceded in death by his wife, Albina Chavez; a son, Gerardo Rubio; a grandson, Gary Rubio; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by two children, Liborio Rubio and (Alejandra) and Francisca Rubio; grandchildren, Florina, Roberto, Marisol, Veronica, Ricky, Eddie, Abby, Diana, and Salena; and numerous great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00PM, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Jean Pierre Swamunu Lhoposo officiating. Burial will follow at Second Chance Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. El Sr. Rubio-Vega nació el 8 de julio de 1930 en Querétaro, México, hijo de José Rubio y Máxima Vega. Le gustaban los rodeos, bailar, cazar, correr caballos y jugar al póquer. Además de sus padres, el Sr. Rubio-Vega fue precedido en la muerte por su esposa, Albina Chávez; un hijo, Gerardo Rubio; un nieto, Güary Rubio; y varios hermanos y hermanas. Le sobreviven dos hijos, Liborio Rubio y (Alejandra) y Francisca Rubio; nietos, Florina, Roberto, Marisol, Verónica, Ricky, Eddie, Abby, Diana y Salena; y numerosos bisnietos. Se celebrará una misa fúnebre a las 12:00 PM, el martes 6 de diciembre de 2022 en la Iglesia Católica del Divino Redentor con el Padre Jean Pierre Swamunu Lhoposo oficiando.
