Mr. Randall “Randy” Gary Swaim, 78, passed away Friday, June14, 2024. He was born October 7, 1945 in Surry County to the late Edworth and Lucy Dobbins Swaim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Swaim and a sister, Debbie Shell. Mr. Swaim served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #336. Randy was a hardworking man who loved living in the country. He was a humble man that would do anything for anybody, not expecting anything in return. Mr. Swaim enjoyed raising cows whom he lovingly called his “girls”. Randy was deeply loved by everyone that knew him, especially his family, which he cherished most. He was a great encourager to his grandchildren, always giving guidance to work hard to succeed in life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Linda Frye Swaim; son, Jody Randall Swaim; step-sons, Tommy (Kim) Henson, Shane Henson; grandchildren, Konnor Swaim, Danielle (David) Norton, Bailey Henson, Vance Henson, Ryann Henson, Nathaniel Henson, McKenzie (Chase) Hughes; great-grandchildren, Parker, Kolson, Hazel Grace, Waylon; sisters, Janet (Bobby) Clark, Holly Brock; and brother, Ladd Swaim. The family will receive friends, Monday, June 17, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Boonville Baptist Church with Rev. John Brown and Rev. Mark Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in Boonville Cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post #10346. The family would like to thank the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice for the loving care shown to Randy and his family and also Genaro Gonzales for all he has done for Randy and Linda. The family would like to also give a special thank you to their Boonville Baptist Church family for all the prayers, visits, and support. Memorials may be made to Boonville Baptist Church Building Fund and/or Mtn. Valley Hospice. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Swaim family.
