Randy Lee Childress

Mr. Randy Lee Childress, age 50, of Elkin passed away on August 31, 2021. Randy was born on December 30, 1970 in Surry County to the late Richard & Sue Collins Childress. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, gardening, playing guitar, music, and loved his dogs.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Crystal Nicks Childress; children, John “Richie” (Stephanie) Childress, Timothy (Kendall) Childress; grandchildren, Hadley, Eleanor, Adalynn, and grandson on the way; sisters, Becky Childress (fiancé Jimmy), Karen (Neil) Childress Patel.

The family is eternally grateful for the loving care given to Mr. Childress by Lori & Kasey with Mountain Valley Hospice and also for the Doctors and Nurses at Duke University Hospital.  In lieu of flowers memorials in his name may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 688 N Bridge St, Elkin, NC 28621.

The graveside service will be at Bible Baptist Church in Jonesville at 4 PM on Friday, September 3, 2021, officiated by Rev. Dwayne Lankford. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Jonesville is serving the Childress family. Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
