Rena Marlene Hemric

June 21, 1944 — July 22, 2018

Hemric Yadkinville – Rena Marlene Hemric, 74, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She was born June 21, 1944 in Surry County.  Rena loved life and always enjoyed the outdoors, flowers, and her special dog “Suri”.  She was a member of Deep Creek Friends Meeting.  She started working with Piedmont Airlines and retired from U.S. Airways after 30 years of service.  Rena will be missed, but we know she is very happy walking the streets of gold with her mother and son.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora Evelyn Crissman Smith; son, Scotty Hemric.  Surviving are her son, Bracky (Gail) Hemric; granddaughter, Cora Arinda “Rindi” Hemric; sisters, Darlis (Lester) Holcomb, Debbie (Late- Tootie) Hutchens; and special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.  Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Randy Quate and the Rev. Lester Holcomb.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  The family would like to thank Rena’s special family, friends, and also her church family for all of the prayers and care shown to her and the family.  The family would also like to thank Forsyth Medical Center for all the love and care shown to her.  Matthew 25:21 “Well Done Thy Good and Faithful Servant.”  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Hemric family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
