Rev. James "Jack" Junior Cook

Rev. James Junior “Jack” Cook, 91, passed away Sunday January 14, 2018. He was born August 29, 1926 in Yadkin County to the late James Isaac “Jim” Cook and Rose Vanhoy Cook. Mr. Cook pastored Old Fashion Baptist Church for over 30 years. Jack married Delilah Ethel Randleman on December 23, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Delilah Ethel Randleman Cook on March 29, 2017; a son Jimmy Lee Cook; sisters Jessie Lee Hemric, Edith Gregory Shore, Bertha Groce, Ruby Parks; brothers Ralph Cook, Doc Cook, Bob Cook, Bud Cook,Gurney Cook . Surviving are his son Tony (Becky) Cook; grandchildren James (Marty) Cook, Tesha (Johnny) Jester, Megan Cook, Cody (Hannah) Cook, Dylan Cook (Fiancée Makayla Dimmette); great- grandchildren Eden Ashley, Cassidy Cook, Blake Ashley. Kyley Cook, Baylee Bryant, Gracee Bryant, Conner Cook; great- great- grandchild Zaida Ashley. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday January 16, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral service in Jonesville. His funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday January 19, 2018 at Old Fashion Gospel Baptist Church by Rev. Bob Edwards, Preacher Dylan Cook, and Rev. Johnny Arnold. He will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Old Fashion Baptist Church 7220 Mayberry Mill Rd.
