Rev. Jesse Larry Miles, Sr.

Rev. Jesse L. Miles, Sr., 71, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Rev. Miles was born February 13, 1948 in Wilkes County.  He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Vietnam War in the 1^st Infantry Division.  Rev. Miles was called to carry the Cross as a Baptist Minister for 43 years and recently was the pastor of Bethel Baptist Church for 13 years.  He was also a teacher in Wilkes and Yadkin County Schools for 24 years. 

Rev. Miles was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen McMenamin Miles.  He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Belinda Johnson Miles; two children, Greta (Adrian) Hayes and Jesse Larry Miles, Jr.; father, Reid (Lily) Miles; grandchildren, Madison, McKenna, Dee, Alicia, Sincere & Chelsey; three brothers, Johnny (Gwen) Miles, his twin, Jim (Wanda) Miles, and Mike (Teresa) Miles; mother-in-law, Marie Lenderman; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Flynn) Harrold; brother-in-law, Sam Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.  

His Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Jim Miles, Rev. Dennis Shaw, Rev. Rick Speas, and Rev. Tim Tucker.  Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the NC National Memorial Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church 2232 Brandon Hills Church Rd. Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Mountain Valley Hospice PO Box 1267, Yadkinville, NC  27055.
