Rev. Richard Clayton Lenderman

Rev. Richard Clayton Lenderman of Kernersville N.C., passed into the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on November 21, 2023. Richard was born on August 20, 1949, in LaGrange, Georgia, and graduated from East Forsyth High School in Kernersville, N.C.  On July 18, 1967, he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour. After serving proudly in the United States Navy for ten years and being a Vietnam Veteran, he served faithfully in the local church, pastored three churches, and blessed many people with his beautiful singing voice. Richard also enjoyed wood working, could fix most anything, and had a generous heart to help others. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Peggy Riggan Lenderman and their children: Rebekah Bowman (Jon), Susanna McCaskill (Mike), Dr. Paul Lenderman (Heather), and daughter-in-law Tracy Lenderman. His twelve grandchildren are: Jonathan Bowman II, Jared Bowman (Mick), Wesley McCaskill (Sierra), Morgan Wiles (Jackson), Madison McCaskill, Haleigh Lenderman, Julianne Lenderman, Audrey Lenderman, Mary Lenderman, Titus Lenderman, Leah Lenderman, and Julia Lenderman. Richard’s siblings are Sherry Osborne (Keith); Dr. Randall Lenderman (Debbie), Joanne Roberson (Stan), and Sandy Ciroula. He also leaves behind many other beloved family members and friends. Preceding him in death is his son, Dr. Mark Alva Lenderman and his parents, Arthur Alva Lenderman and Jean Bartlett Lenderman. The celebration of Richard’s life will be held at Peace Haven Baptist Church in Yadkinville, N.C. on Sunday, November 26, at 2:30 pm with Dr. Jon Bowman, Dr. Paul Lenderman, Dr. Randall Lenderman and Dr. Steve Roberson conducting the services. Burial will immediately follow at the Peace Haven Baptist Church Memorial Garden with Rev. Paul Doby officiating. The Lenderman family will be visiting with friends after the burial. The family would like to give a special thank you to all who have prayed, sent food and cards, called, or visited during these last few weeks. We would also like to thank the staff of Trinity Glen Rehab in Winston-Salem for their exceptional care of Richard during his stay and Trellis Hospice for their services.
