Richard Dean Hutchens

Hutchens Yadkinville – Richard Dean Hutchens, 77, passed away Saturday, July 08, 2017. He was born March 16, 1940 in Yadkin County to the late Edgar Bonson Hutchens and Eula Shore Hutchens.  Richard was a member of Pilot View Friends Meeting.  He worked at Highwood’s Properties and Magnolia Construction.  Richard enjoyed the outdoors and especially fishing, but his pride and joy were his two grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Deana Marie Hutchens; sister, Linda Taylor; brothers, Eddie Hutchens, Roger Hutchens.  Surviving are his wife, Marie Miller Hutchens; children, Kevin (Melissa) Hutchens, Karen Hutchens (fiancée – Johnny Ireland); grandchildren, Hunter Hutchens, Haley Hutchens;  sister, Shirley (Johnny) Carter; brother, Steve (Susan) Hutchens; and several nieces and nephews.  His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Josh Williams and the Rev. Nelson Puffenbarger.  Burial will follow at Pilot View Friends Meeting Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  Memorials can be made to Pilot View Friends Meeting, 3225 Pilot View Church Road, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville will be serving the Hutchens family.  Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
