Richard "Thomas" Stroud

Richard “Thomas” Stroud, 89, passed away Tuesday October 10, 2023. He was born November 9, 1933 in Wilkes County to the late Jimmy Stroud and Vertie Gilliam Stroud. He was a member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Stroud served in the US Army. He was the coordinator for several years as the Baptist Disaster Relief Team. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Royce Stroud Dobbins Myers; brothers Wayne Stroud, Kenneth Stroud. Surviving are his wife Betty Jo Reavis Stroud; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Friday October 13, 2023 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Graveside Service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday October 13, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery 2178 Bethel Rd., Ronda, NC 28670 by Rev. Howard Wagoner and Full Military Honors by the NC National Guard Honors and the VFW Post 10346. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff at The Greens of Maple Leaf and Gardens of Statesville for the loving care given to Mr. Stroud.
