Richard Leroy Whelpley

Whelpley Yadkinville – Richard Leroy Whelpley, 82, passed away Thursday, November 09, 2017. He was born June 16, 1935 in Ohio to the late Harold and Mildred Whelpley.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Spencer.  Surviving are his wife, Lokeel Mabe Whelpley; daughters, Rhonda (William) Brown, Stephanie Whelpley; step-children, Gail (Don) Lemming, Ricky Hinshaw, Dean (Susan) Blalock, Karen (Mark) Sanford; grandchildren, Morgan Brown, Cheyenne Winters, Shawnee Winters; step grandchildren, Ricky Hinshaw, Jr., Michael Hinshaw, Dean Blalock, Jr., Chris Blalock, Mark Sanford, Jr., Matthew Sanford; great grandchildren, Darren Hedrick, Anthony Higgins; sister, Jan (Ralph) Volk of Kingsville, OH; and several nieces and nephews.  His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Maplewood Baptist Church by the Rev.
