Robert Lee Cline

Yadkinville Mr. Robert “Pawpaw” Lee Cline, 77, went to be with his eternal Father and was reunited with his loving wife on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Robert was born June 25, 1945 to Coolie and Laura York Cline. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Believer’s Baptist Church. Robert retired from RJ Reynolds after more than 40 years of service. He was an amazing checkers player, placing 3rd in State and went to Nationals in the ACF. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls, anything John Deere, telling jokes and riddles, and woodworking. Robert placed 1st in State in Competition Archery and was an avid deer hunter. He was a creative engineer that could make anything from nothing. After losing his son, he would tell everyone that his girls were his world. They both cherish the memories of Saturday mornings, playing the guitar and singing with their dad. In recent years, his clothes never matched and he always wore his crocs, but he always kept his sense of humor and his great love for his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gail “MawMaw” Fulp Cline; his son, Robert Dwayne Cline; and a sister, Betty Colleen. He is survived by his daughters, “Dumpling”, Teresa (Clayton) Campbell and his “Kitten” Cindy (Daniel) Wagoner; grandchildren, Timothy Campbell, Jordan “Fweetie-Bumps” Campbell, Blake Pardue, Chloe “Doodlebopper” Pardue, Lily Cline, and Zach Cline; great grandchildren, Ayden Campbell and Rosalyn “Spice Cake” Campbell; two brothers, Dean Cline and Alvis (Fran) Cline; several nieces and nephews; a special family friend, Shirley Jennings; and his two feline companions, Butterscotch and Calico. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Believer’s Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Foster officiating. He will lie in state from 1:30 to 2:00PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Yadkinville Cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and NC National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM, at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Misty Marshburn, Cari Harold, Chris Bolden, Yadkin County Emergency Services, Yadkinville Fire Dept., Yadkin County Sherriff’s Office, and Yadkin County Rescue Squad for the care, love, and support shown to Robert and his family during this difficult time. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Cline family.
