Holden Beach

Robert Cleve Marion of Holden Beach, NC formerly of East Bend, was reunited with the love of his life, Janet Brown Marion at Heaven's Gate on June 15, 2022 at the age of 94.  He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle and great great uncle and friend to everyone he met. He was born in Surry County, NC on July 24, 1927 to George W. Marion Sr. and Lula Stanley Marion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Pholia Marion, Fred Marion, Jack Marion & George Marion and his sisters Beatrice Marion White and Mittie Marion Longworth. He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Marion Norris and husband, Ray Norris of Holden Beach, NC and his granddaughter, Tricia Hoots Holden and great granddaughter, Savana Holden and great grandson, Quinton Holden of Holden Beach, NC.  He was a member of Forbush Friends Meeting.  Since moving to Holden Beach, he attended Gospel Center Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in World War II and a retired used car dealer.  The funeral service will be held at Forbush Friends Meeting in East Bend at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 with the Rev. Mitchell See officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 9010 in Clemmons and the NC Memorial Honor Guard. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a. m. at Forbush Friends Meeting.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials can be made to Forbush Friends Meeting, 4460 Forbush Rd.
