EAST BEND – Mr. Robert “Rusty” Russell Reed, 69, of Wisteria Drive passed away peacefully Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Reed was born June 12, 1955 in Mecklenburg County to the late Robert Wendell and Montrose “Monty” Beam Reed. He attended Sardis Presbyterian Church of Charlotte in his younger years, was a 1976 graduate of Wingate University, and spent most of his life working in different manufacturing facilities in the Charlotte area. Surviving are his sister, Wendy Wooten and her husband, Chuck of East Bend; his nieces, Rachel Wooten and Samantha Wooten. The family requests that memorials be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 325, Dobson, NC 27017.
