Robert "Robbie" Carlyle Hall

May 2, 1952 — March 17, 2022

Hamptonville Robert Carlyle "Robbie" Hall, 69, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, March 17, 2022 after an extended battle with cancer. Robbie faced with strength and strong faith, that without a miracle from our Heavenly Father, his life here would be over in a few months. He is well now and has won the battle that kept him from enjoying his last months with family and friends. We are so thankful to have the assurance because he knew Jesus as his personal Savior is with Him in Heaven. Robbie graduated from Starmount High School in 1970. He attended Wilkes Community College where he received an Associates of Arts degree. He continued his education attending Appalachian State University receiving a degree in Industrial Arts with a concentration in technical drafting and graphic arts with a minor in secondary education. After graduation in 1975 he worked as a machinist. This afforded him the opportunity to apply in a working environment the practical use of his knowledge of drafting and as a machinist. In 1978 he accepted a teaching position at Starmount High School where he taught until his retirement. He taught Drafting and Introduction to Trade and Industrial Education. He was a strong advocate for vocational education. He believed it served students and their communities well to learn a trade that enabled them to pursue higher education in a chosen field or enabled them to work in practical positions that are essential to every community. Robbie was a former member of West Yadkin and Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Departments with many years of service. Robbie's interests and hobbies were many. He enjoyed woodworking, building furniture, making fishing lures, playing the guitar and listening to music, however, fishing was his favorite. For more than 35 years he fished with his closest friend, Gale Finney. Only our Heavenly Father knows how much water they covered, how many casts they made, all of the ones that got away, all the ones they caught and released to live another day, all of the lures, worms and bait they tried. Most of all, they were blessed with a lasting friendship they enjoyed very much. He also enjoyed the many years he fished with his brother-in-law, Donnie Church. The stories are too numerous to tell. He was born to Jesse Carlyle "P-Nut" and Sylvia Atkins Hall on May 2, 1952. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Curtis Hugh Hall; and Cotton Jo, canine companion for 18 years. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Ava Pardue Hall, of Hamptonville; a loving brother and helpful caregiver George Keith Hall (Debbie) of Elkin; niece Shelley Hall Nicholson (Robbie); great niece Jessie Nicholson; great nephew Alex Nicholson of Elkin; nephew Jesse Robert Hall (Kristen) of Huntersville; an aunt, Lucille Hall Church, of Millers Creek; a sister-in-law, Becky Pardue Church (Donnie), of North Wilkesboro; niece Emily Church; great nephew Mason Church of North Wilkesboro; and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 3:00pm - 4:00pm, Saturday, March 26, 2022 with a Celebration of Robbie's Life to follow at 4:00pm at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. The service will be officiated by Rev. Anthony Silvers of Mountain View Baptist Church, Hamptonville. Also speaking will be Gale Finney. The family would like to thank the staff of Medi Home Health for their extraordinary care of Robbie with a special thank you to his, nurse Tracy Walton. The family asked that any memorials be made to Mountain View Baptist Church 1232 Mountain View Church Road Hamptonville, NC. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Hall family.
