Robert "Scott" Underwood

Mr. Robert “Scott” Underwood, 54, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital surrounded by the warmth of family and friends. He was born on March 21, 1969 in Forsyth County to Robert Winfield Underwood and Carolyn Willard Procter. 

Scott worked several years with Northside Dialysis as a Dialysis Technician where many co-workers became some of his closest friends. Scott’s sense of humor was contagious and his jokes and stories will be greatly missed. 

Scott is preceded in death by both of his maternal grandparents, Craig (Magdeline) Willard; paternal grandparents, Robert M. Underwood and Hazel M. Underwood, A step-brother and a step-father. Surviving is his mother, Carolyn Willard Procter and step-dad, James Proctor; his father, Robert W. Underwood and step-mother, Ginger Underwood; a sister, Donita Underwood; half-brother, Miles Underwood; step-sister, Kelley (Andy) Holbrook; nephew, Zack Groce; niece, Karley (Austin) Trivette; step-nieces, Carrie Miller and Katie Ingram; cousins, Danny Mathis, Derrick (Jennifer) Willard, David (Rachel) Willard; his best friend, Damon Shew; his most loyal and faithful companion, “Floyd”; and other extended family and friends. 

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville on Saturday, November 11, 2023. A memorial service will follow in the Gentry Family Chapel at 3:00PM with Rev. Chris Hauser officiating. The family would like to extend gratitude to everyone who has texted, called, visited and prayed over their family during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Scott’s memory to Yadkin Christian Ministries, 117 Woodlyn Dr, Yadkinville, NC 27055.
