Rodney Elwood Couch

Yadkinville Rodney Elwood Couch went home to be with his Savior and Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. He was such a kind man and a devoted husband to Betty for 52 years. He enjoyed singing and talking about his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Rodney loved his family and made friends wherever he went including his coworkers at Chatham Manufacturing Company in Elkin, NC where he worked for 45 years in various job positions. He was born in Surry County to Lester J. Couch and Grace Durham Couch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Merle J. Couch and sister-in-law Dare P. Couch. Surviving is his wife Betty Frye Couch and his sister Penny C. Anderson (J. D.). He is also survived by several special nieces and nephews and special great nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, July 15, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Dr. Jon Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Peace Haven Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM, prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to SECU Hospice Care Center 1427 Edgewood Drive Mt. Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to thank everyone at Peace Haven Baptist Church, family members and friends for the many acts of kindness and prayers that were lifted up for him and Betty during his illness and passing. The family would also like to thank Dr. Carol Albright and the staff at the Comprehensive Cancer Center in Elkin, NC and Mountain Valley Hospice staff in Yadkinville for the wonderful care Rodney received.
