Romie Richard Hutchens

Romie R Hutchens born 6-14-1939, passed away on 10-14-2021. A tobacco farmer of 15 years. He retired in 2010 from Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. He enjoyed traveling to Pigeon Forge, TN, fishing, working on his vehicles, and sitting on the front porch with his loving dog Toby. He was proceeded in death by his son Edwin Gray, parents, Robey Hutchens and Ida Chandler Hutchens, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Survived by his loving wife Wilda of 63 years, son Wayne (Susan), daughters Michele Vestal (Rickie), Tammy Mook (Danny), Grandsons Mickey, Justin, & Brandon (Casey), granddaughters Jessica Bowers & Kristi George. 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandson. 2 sisters and 1 brother. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Sunday October 17, 2021 at Gentry Family Funeral Service. A celebration of life service will be conducted on Sunday October 17, 2021 at 2:00 in Gentry Family Chapel with Pastor Jared Warden officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or South Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
