Ronald Joseph Matheny, 86, of Harmony, NC, passed away Monday April 1, 2024 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville. He was born December 22, 1937 to Elma and Hencil Matheny of Plymouth, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Doris Rasberry and Barbara Peyton and his two sons Brian and Michael Matheny. Surving is his ex-wife, Georgia Wallace, who cared for him for six years and his nephews, niece and friends in Plymouth that also cared for him in his failing years. Ron served in the US Air Force and worked for Piedmont Aviation and US Airways for 40+ years. As per his request there will be no formal service. A military burial at the Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC, will be at a later date. Condolences may be made to his family at 651 Rabbit Hwy., Harmony, NC, 28634.
