Hudspeth
Boonville- Mr. Ronald “Ronnie” D. Hudspeth, 72, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the SECU Hospice Care Center of Yadkinville. He was born May 7, 1949 in Forsyth County to the late Donald and Ruby Reece Hudspeth. Ronnie was a graduate of Yadkinville High School Class of 1967, and he loved each of his classmates dearly. He retired from Duke Energy with 35 years of faithful service. He volunteered a lot of his time to the community, and was a member of several organizations, such as the Boonville Jaycees, where he served with several offices at the local and state level. He retired from Boonville Fire Department, and served as a Boonville Town Commissioner. Ronnie was an active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, where he served the church faithfully as a Deacon. He and his wife, Monna, served as youth leaders, retiring after 25 years of striving to make a difference in a young person’s life. He also enjoyed singing with the Heaven’s Way Quartet for many years, and became known as the “Best Bass Voice Around”. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was also preceded in death by his sister, Adrian Hudspeth Brown; and by a son-in-law, Eric Seagraves. On March 2, 1969, Ronnie married the love of his life, Monna Mosteller Hudspeth, who is left to cherish their memories after their wonderful 52 years of marriage. Also surviving are his two daughters, Candy Hudspeth Seagraves (the late Eric) and Joyell Hudspeth Leonard (Mickey); six grandchildren, Josh, Savanna (Bryce), Rylee, Jessi, Dakotah, Eli; and great-granddaughter, Caylee. Ronnie was always good for a laugh or a hug. His smile was often a sign that he was up to something. He touched the lives of so many people and he will be greatly missed.
