Ronald Gray Transou, Jr. was born in Elkin in 1967 to Judy McGuire Nance and Ronald Gray Transou. His family multiplied with a brother Dustin Gray Transou, a step-father Ritchie Nance, a step-mother June Transou, a step-sister Maria Dulay Carpenter, a step-brother Michael Dulay; two nieces Cassidy Transou and Solana Transou, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. He was adored by his grandparents who have passed: Jim and Mildred Transou. Rex and Gladys McGuire. Ronnie was an accomplished carpenter and roofer. Making things with wood, playing the guitar, and swimming in the Yadkin River and fishing at the Elkin Creek were some of his passions. He also was quite an accomplished cook. To all these interests, he added a mischievous sense of humor. His heroes were John Wayne and Willie Nelson. Ronnie survived numerous setbacks in his life and fought addiction for years. Special people helped him along the way. He almost made it with the help of Your Fathers House. His last several years were a struggle and now he is finally at peace. He was loved by many. A celebration of his life will be Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM First Baptist Church Elkin.
