Ronnie resided in Mount Airy, North Carolina, alongside his daughter Ashley Forrest and his late wife Patsy Forrest. He was raised in East Bend, North Carolina, by his late parents, Fred and Violet Davis Forrest, and had three late siblings: brothers Gary and Monty Forrest, and sister Debbie Forrest. Ronnie is also an uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Ronnie was an exceptionally amazing father and a dedicated and loving husband. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him quickly became friends and held him in high regard. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy to others through his humor and was always ready to assist anyone in need. Golf was his passion, and he seized every opportunity to play, while also enjoying weekly races with his friends and family. Dedicated over 20 years of his career as a truck driver for Hardy Brothers, truly enjoying the experience of traveling across the country. Ronnie embraced life fully, treasuring each day. He did not let his health hold him back from truly living a good life the way he wanted to. His absence will be profoundly felt, and he will forever be cherished. The family plans to organize a celebration of his life at a later date.
