Ronnie Harris

Fredrick “Ronnie” Harris, 78, passed away peacefully Friday, January 6, 2023 at Baptist Hospital. He was born August 21, 1944 to the late Fred and Opal Harris. Ronnie was a hardworking, loving, kind and gentle husband, father, and papa, who treated everyone he met with an infectious smile, fist bump or hug. His love for driving 18 wheelers led to a career that lasted for over 50 years. Ronnie never met a stranger on the road and made many lasting friendships over the years. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda; his son, Freddie (Jennifer); grandsons, Joshua Balogh, Colby Harris, Brenden Harris; great-grandson, Miller Balogh; brother, Roger Harris (Debbie); sister Darlene Casstevens (Jeff); brother-in-law, Larry Ingool (Bonnie), and sister-in-law, Elaine Reavis (Ricky), and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving mother-in-law, Lorene Ingool. The family will receive friends, Monday, January 9, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Gentry Family funeral Service in Jonesville. His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM in the Gentry Family Chapel, following the visitation. Burial will follow at Arlington First Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arlington First Baptist Church, Baptist Men’s Mission Group, 345 South Main St., Jonesville, NC 28642.
