Roy Donald Casstevens

Yadkinville Mr. Roy Donald Casstevens, 81, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Casstevens was born September 15, 1935 in Yadkin County to Rufus and Minnie Holcomb Casstevens. Roy loved God, family, life and hugs. He retired from RJ Reynolds after 35 + years of service, was a member of Yadkin Rescue Squad, and a member of Yadkin Masonic Lodge #162. Roy was a very active member of Mitchells Chapel UMC. He was very involved in Volunteers in Missions. In addition to his parents, Mr. Casstevens was preceded in death by two brothers, Phillip and Allen Casstevens. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nannie Crissman Casstevens; three children, David (Lisa) Casstevens, Lori (Bud) Martin, and Jason Casstevens (Karen Brown); grandchildren, Heather (Adam) Ingool, Blaine Casstevens, Alexandra Martin (Daniel Brown), and Tessica Martin; step grandchildren, Matthew Brown (Katherine Hemric), and Zach Brown; and three great grandchildren, Lily and Ella Ingool and Bentley Brown. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Friday, August 4, 2017 at Mitchells Chapel UMC with Rev. Rebecca Ralph and Rev. Charles Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
