Roy Saylor Doub

Doub East Bend – Roy Saylor Doub, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at SECU Hospice Care of Yadkin. Roy was born August 9, 1932 in Yadkin County to the late Arzie Aldene Doub and Fannie Saylor Doub. Roy graduated from Yadkinville High School and later served in the Army. Roy retired as a dairy/crop farmer. He also served on the board of ASCS. Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Velna Hall Doub; son, Avalon (Michelle) Doub; son-in-law, Jeff Brinker; grandchildren, Austin Doub, Jacob Doub, Brianna Doub, Will Brinker; sister, Sarah Penry; brother, Edward (Olivia) Doub. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lydia Doub Brinker; brothers, Aldene Doub, William Doub; sister, Edith Kiger. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Baltimore United Methodist Church by the Rev. Chad Shoaf, where Roy was a life-long member and served as a trustee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, and then a reception will follow in the fellowship hall. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
