Boonville Mr. Roy Cosby Nixon, 90, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Nixon was born September 10, 1926 in Surry County to Caleb and Mamie Williamson Nixon. He was a member of East Elkin Full Gospel Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nixon was preceded in death by second wife, Frances Lear Nixon; his third wife, Helen Nixon; and three sisters, Beatrice Matthews, Juanita Parker, and Imogene Speaks. He is survived by four children, Debbie Nixon (Brent Casstevens), Dale (Debbie) Nixon, Judy (Dwayne) Combs, and Betty Jean (Doughton) Woodle; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Ann (Jerry) Lamm and Jane (Frank) Gentry; and three brothers, Franklin (Mary) Nixon, Bobby Nixon, and Tommy (Ann) Nixon. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Sunday, May 28, 2017 at East Elkin Full Gospel Church with Rev. Jerry Childress officiating. He will lie in state from 1:30 to 2:00PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
