Ruby Mae Vestal

Boonville   Mrs. Ruby Mae Matthews Vestal, 90, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at her home.  Mrs. Vestal was born July 11, 1926 in Yadkin County to William and Ada Belle Hutchens Matthews.  She was a member of Mt. Caramel Friends Church.  Mrs. Vestal was a loving mother and grandmother who never met a stranger, and who loved to garden, crochet, and cook.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vestal was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Monroe Vestal; and a daughter, Zola Murphy.  She is survived by one daughter, Sylvia “Mama” White; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one sister, Lillie Spencer. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00AM, Monday, May 15, 2017 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Will Hamric officiating.  Burial will follow at Matthews Family Cemetery on Falcon Road.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
