Ruby May Reavis Whitaker

Ruby May Reavis Whitaker, 85, passed away Monday March 19, 2018. She was born in Yadkin County on June 28, 1932; daughter of the late Henry and Betty Bell Trivette Reavis. She was of the Baptist faith and graduated from Courtney High School. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death of her husband, Paul Whitaker, brother, Earnest Reavis, four sisters, Eva Hoots, Martha Wiles, Nellie Reynolds and Sallie Wishon Cornell and a grandson, Jason Brown. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Whitaker (Jeffery Jackson), a son, Robert Whitaker (Michelle), grandson, Christopher Whitaker (Kimberly), three great grandchildren, Hunter, Dixie and Samuel, her sister, Mary Wiles, her best friend, Dorothy Childress and special niece, Nancy Long and her loving companions, Sandy and Tom. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Friday March 23, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Davie County with Chaplin Mark Brown officiating. Interment will follow graveside. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
