Ruth Esterlene Salmons Hoots

Hoots Yadkinville – Ruth Esterlene Salmons Hoots, 97, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019.   She was born October 5, 1921 in Yadkin County to the late George Clark Salmons and Evella Cozart Salmons.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hoots; sister, Texie Lou Joyner; brothers, Beecher Salmons, Leonard Salmons, Ray Salmons, James Salmons, Gray Salmons, George Salmons.  Ruth is survived by her children, Barbara Fox, Clara Martin, Jr. (Rose) Hoots, and Nancy Walls.  She was a mother and grandmother to Cindy Martin, Jill Jester, Teresa Logan, Tina Acree, Tricia Holden, Janel Walls, and Nathan Walls; and many great and great-great grandchildren.  Ruth is also survived by a sister, Vaudeline Doss.  Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m.  Monday, February 11, 2019 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Nelson Spaulding.  Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  The family wants to thank the staff at Yadkin Nursing Care Center for their loving care and support given to Ruth for the past seven years.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to “The Sunshine Room”, Yadkin Nursing Care Center, PO Box 879, Yadkinville, NC  27055.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Hoots family.  Online condolences can be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
