Ruth Allen Stewart

Boonville Mrs. Ruth Beatrice Allen Stewart, 82, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Stewart was born May 7, 1940 in Forsyth County to Hubert and Lola Wiseman Allen. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and retired from Boonville Elementary School after 22 years of service. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping, and reading. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley (Paul) Hiatt and Nell (T.L.) Matthews. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Davis “Jack” Stewart; children, Tim (Marty) Stewart and Tonya (Phillip) Wilkins; grandchildren, Savanna (Bradley) Burgess, Ashley (Nathan) Reed, Brinsley (Zack) Faircloth, and Stewart (Quinn) Wilkins; great grandchild, Redge Reece Faircloth; sister-in-law, Louise Hinshaw; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Gentry Family Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gooden officiating. Burial will follow at Boonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church, 2401 Nebo Rd, Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Boonville Community Library, 121 W Main St, Boonville, NC 27011. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hugh Chatham Hospital 3rd floor for the loving care given to Mrs. Stewart.
