Sambo "Sam" Cockerham

Cockerham   Boonville - Mr. Sambo “Sam” Cockerham, 76, of Boonville died Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Sam was born in Yadkin County on September 29, 1941: son of the late Joseph Harden and Fronnie Hudson Cockerham. Sam was a charter member of Peace Haven Baptist Church; he also, loved fishing, hunting, gardening, travel and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Pattie T. Cockerham, two sons, Samuel Cockerham and Randall Harden Cockerham, a step-daughter; Angela Murphy, two grandsons, Wesley David Cockerham and Jack Harden Cockerham and two brothers, Charlie (Peggy) Cockerham and Robert (Carolyn) Cockerham. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Peace Haven Baptist Church with Dr. Jon Bowman, Rev. Bruce Freeman and Brother George Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Peace Heaven Baptist Church, 2200 Booger Swamp Rd., Yadkinville, NC 27055. A special thanks for the prayers and care by the many friends and family.
