Satch White

Mr. Chester “Satch” White, age 86, passed away at home on Christmas day 2023. He was born May 26, 1937 in Surry County to the late McKinley and Mazie Williams White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Shelby; 2nd wife, Helen; and one step great-grandchild. Satch was the proud owner of White’s Exxon and later White’s Auto Sales right up until his illness began this past September. He was a faithful member of Enon Baptist Church and he loved his “Pairs and Spares” Sunday school class. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Vonda and Jim Coy; son, Jamey White; granddaughter and fiancé Delaney Coy and Davis Downing; stepsons, Butch (Jennifer) Pendergrass, Randy (Pam) Pendergrass, Neal (Cindy) Pendergrass; six step-grandchildren, and ten step great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Enon Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Messer and Rev. Bob Belford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
