Mr. Shawn Jeffrey “Jeff” Brooks, age 46, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1975 in Nashville, TN to Shawn Hal Brooks and Mary Bailey Collins.  He was preceded in death by his step-father, Aaron Collins; step-sister, Amber Love; paternal grandmother, Mabel Brooks; maternal grandparents, R.A. & Della Bailey.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Shawn Hal (Mariam) Brooks; mother, Mary Bailey Collins; children, Bethany Ashland Brooks, Savannah Grace Brooks, Zackery Shinault and Hadley Shinault; paternal grandfather, Zane Brooks; sister, Dawn (Lee) Southard; step-sister, Dorothy (Tom) Bragg; step-brother, Richie Love; nephew, Logan Wilmoth; nieces, Abigail Wilmoth and Carlee Southard; aunt, Sandy Webster; uncle, Shane Brooks; girlfriend, Kristina Shinault.  Jeff was a family centered man whose children always came first. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He loved riding his motor-cycle and working on cars, lawn mowers, motorcycles, etc.  He enjoyed being outdoors and had grown to love gardening.  He was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his children.  Jeff was really “a jack-of-all-trades.” 

A private graveside service will be held to celebrate Jeff’s life at Laurel Glen Regular Baptist Church Cemetery in Alleghany County, NC with Pastor Chris Snow officiating. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Jonesville is serving the Brooks family.
