Sherry Fishburn Ball

Mrs. Sherry Fishburn Ball, 75, passed away May 29, 2023. She was born January 29, 1948 in Indiana to the late John Reed Fishburn and Mary Frances Neighbors Fishburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Dallas Gray Ball. Mrs. Ball was a member of Arlington 1st Baptist Church where she was very active in the children’s ministry. Sherry began in 1985 with Boy Scouts of America where she served in many roles throughout the years from Scout Master to her most recent role as Den Leader. She is survived by her son, Brian (Gail) Ball; grandchildren, Matthew Ball and Valerie Ball; brother, Kevin Fishburn; sisters, Nikki Angus and Janice Edwards; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Freeman, Judy (Eddie) Steedly; brother-in-law, Howard Ball. The family will receive friends, Friday, June 2, 2023 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Arlington First Baptist Church with Rev. Matty Ponce De Leon and Rev. Chris Alford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to thank the Oncology staff of Dr. Allbright, in Elkin, the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice and the staff of Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the loving care given to Sherry.
