Jonesville-  Sherry Jean Edlin, 61, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Atrium Health Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.   She was born July 4, 1961 in Raleigh County West Virginia to Shirley Jean Farmer King and Ramon Del King.  Ms Edlin being born on July 4^th was a proud Patriot for her country, a huge advocate for Israel and the Israeli people.  She loved her weenie dog, Abby.  Ms Edlin was the greatest Matriarch for her family.  She lived her life as a loving Nana and mother to her children and grandchildren.  She was a light to many by always providing comfort, direction, and was THE crisis negotiator for everyone.  Her family can find comfort knowing her favorite phrases were, “to live is Christ, and to die is gain” and “..last breath here is her first breath there..”, and “It is well with my soul…”.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Jean King.  Surviving are her beloved daughters, Brandy and Sarah; her grandsons, who were the love of her world, Phoenix Michael (Boo) and Kendel Francis (Frank); her father, Ramon Del King of Beckley, WV.; her sisters, Lynn Perry of WV, Sandy (Jerry) Shelton of NC; brothers, Eddie (Sherry) King of Courtney, Ray (Amy) King of WV; former husband, James Eric Patton of TN;  and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  The family will receive friends to Celebrate the Life of Sherry from 1-3 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the family to assist with expenses.  Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Edlin family.  Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
