Shirley Mae Martin Britt

Mrs. Shirley Mae Martin Britt, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2019. She was born in Surry County on February 13, 1945 to the late Howard Martin and Desree Carter Martin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded death by her husband; Jack Britt; a son; Douglas Britt, a brother, Graham Martin, sister; Julie Proveaux. Mrs. Britt is survived by her two daughters, Alice Britt and Sherry Waller (William); grandchildren Jayson Waller, Jeremy Waller, Jessi Gandy, Kandi Britt-Huff, Brandi Frizzelle and Alisha Britt; great-grandchildren; Hannah, MacKenzie, Zoelle, Londyn, Zayden, Christian, Sonny, River and Destiny, great great-grandchild Lily. Shirley was of the Baptist faith. She was known for her love of drawing, reading and loved to rescue animals. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 27, 2019, 3:00 PM at Gentry Funeral Chapel, Jonesville.  Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens, State Road.
